Looking for Cobra
I wanted to know what kind of kit car is the best

You should give a little more info to get some intelligent help. What's your budget, your skill level...and what are your plans for the car...as an example |
I am looking for one for my Dad and he is looking to spend about $50,000 he wants a superformance but how is that compared to other cars

Ron, we started a discussion years ago about a tutorial for folks entering the cult. I know all the information (excellent information) already exists in the forum, but it could be a daunting challenge to draw meaningful conclusions when starting from absolute zero. Though I lack the time and intelligence, I'm sure that out of the thousands of participants, someone is ripe for such a project. Heck, the check box for SB vs BB alone could take years!

Does he want to build or buy? What will the car be used for and what attribute are most important to him? Is originality important, cruising, racing, show car, ease of assembly and factory support, etc.....
Budget is sufficient for many of the kits out there to build a very nice car. Look at Factory Five, Hurricane, Shell Valley, etc... |
I have one for sale and it is on cobracountry.com. It is an FFR, pro built with an FE motor that was also pro built. It has all the right stuff and is priced right for what it is. The color is solid British racing green.

Simce you are from California you should also consider the Sb100 certificate..........

Oh forgot to mention my FFR is titled as a 1965 Cobra in Florida.

My pick would be a superformance roadster and put a milder say 5.0L small block (crate motor) and a T5 or a basic 4615 Tremec in it and get this....build and ENJOY the car.
Use a stock pan , save the canton money for later, a stock-ish 1993 mustang GT drivetrain can be had new for 6K add some detail items and dont go crazy on chrome this and aluminum that, satin black steel works just fine. == and you could be together for way under 50. then you drive the car, learn how to use it with that amount of firepower and then upgrade as $$$$ permits. The SPF dealers are sitting on inventory and you can get a great deal on a NEW one with NO STORIES. --Steve |
