393 stroker

I am thinking about putting a 393 stroker kit in my cobra. Any ideas about how much hp I should gain? Any thoughts on this at all? thanks, Pudge

You can build a 393 stroker with 300hp to 600+hp,all depends on heads/cam/intake/carb/ignition/headers and a host of other things.....including cubic $$$$$$$$$$..

You need to give more info on what you expect and want you want.....

david, i have a 351 windsor 385hp. I am probably going to keep everything the same except the stroker kit.

450 to 475 HP at the flywheel.

It's a great engine choice. Better than 408 in my opinion because of the shorter stroke but still lots of torque.

385 hp / 351 * 392 = 430 hp

If you changed nothing but the stroke, I would estimate 430 hp, and that is assuming that exhaust side and intake side will flow as well at the higher displacement.

Am I looking at this wrong?

That is what Ford rated my 392 crate engine at,430. Some say they were conservative in their rating.
