Cobras are SO slow!

If I take the Jeep to the market for a gallon of milk, it's about a 10 minute drive both ways. If I take the Cobra, it's about an hour ONE way. Easily, the slowest errand running car I've ever owned...

That is probably because you take the long way to the store in the Cobra.

My wife get a bit upset that everytime I take the cobra out for a "short trip", 'cause it ends up needing gas and has another 150 miles on it...and I end up wanting more HP. Oh well, it does make the ride to the store nice, 'cept when I forget to stop at the store;)

Take the long way? Never.:LOL: I actually took a ride for about 3 hours on a day last year where I took every 3rd right turn followed by the 3rd left followed by the 3rd right ..... Really got interesting driving down roads even when they had a "Dead End" sign. Boy, did I get lost for about 30 minutes during the ride, but it was a great waste of gasoline.

My ex wife calls it my new Girlfriend that I'm driving around with.
Unfortunately I cannot park it and go inside a store and leave it alone.
Most people around where I live thinks it's a UDO. (Unidentified driven object)

Going out for burgers

Yep, same problem here. Last fall, my wife asks, "So, you want to take the Cobra and go get something to eat?"

"Sure! Where you want to go?" I replied.

"Red Robin!"

Gotta love her - the closest Red Robin is only 60 miles away, two lane state roads all the way!!!:D

Wanted to go to some Outlet Mall Stores a while back to get some new jeans. Decided to take the back loop to get there. South Portland, over Mount Hood and down the Columbia River Gorge. 141 miles to get there. Would have been 27 if I'd gone the front way.
With a little looking there always seems to be an alternative route to get most of the places I want to go.

i do what i like to call "hot laps". thats a hot lap around the block. but then i cant go home just yet cause john law is waitting, so hot lap turns into at least a half tanker.

During the WSCB this year I took the car out for a late night cruise, went to a gas station to put fuel in it and it took over an hour. A bunch of people gathered around the car and I stood there answering questions and telling them about the Cobra Bash. A couple of guys from back east wanted to take pictures of the car and wanted pictures with me in it and with them standing next to it, etc., of course I obliged. For this trip the gas station was about 2 miles from the Nugget, so in my estimate I could have walked faster in the time I had to go to the gas station and back in the Cobra.

I went for a short drive this past Sunday and wanted to pull over, pop the hood and just check for 'what ever'. Now you have to be careful WHERE you pull over to do this, if not, people will start gathering and the question/answer session will begin shortly. Found a large parking lot, way in the back, parked between two SUV's to 'hide'.
