3012 has a tunnel port 427.

Intersesting that it was "restored" with a new chassis and body.

Wish 3012 had more photos......:(

I find it interesting that they want to continue to associate Lothar Motschenbacher with a completely redone car (????)

Buzz 08-02-2008 09:33 PM

She sure looked purty in dark green.

Didn't this same car go across the block at R&S a couple of years ago and get "bought" under questionable circumstances?

rjbh20 08-04-2008 10:09 AM

Also CSX 3155, CSX 2485 AND CSX 3301 at the RM Auction \

I find it bothersome that RM blocks you from saving the pictures? Why would they do that?

mobilenuke 08-04-2008 03:13 PM

3012 was in shop to be repainted to silver prior to the auction. The green was very good looking I thought.

They look low res, but if you're interested, SnagIt will capture any web image. Free trial.

In Windows, press Alt-PrtScn. That captures the image of the current window to the clipboard. Paste it into your photo editor (or Paint) and crop the part you want.

PANAVIA 08-04-2008 11:10 PM

yup... -what barnsnake said.

Will be interesting to see what the $$ flow is like now (in monterey) since they are saying the gas crisis /credit crisis is over.

So according to the rmauctions write up, if you put an aluminum 390 in your replica, it won't be authentic to the actual car, but you would be duplicating Shelby's dream!

Interesting info, there's a fake 3301 out there as well. Who own's that one?

With 5 original Cobras now available at the major auctions, there may be more, is this a normal amount at one time or unusually high or ?

Its a little higher than in past years. Between the RM and R&S there's usually a couple most years. When Shelby or Ford is the featured marque at the Historics, more show up. Lamborghini is one of the Concours features this year, which I imagine accounts for the large number of Lamborghinis at the auctions.

Shame that RM is getting more & more into the hot rod & muscle car scene at the expense of traditional sports & racing cars. I hope it doesn't degrade into the carnival midway show that is Barrett Jackson.

There are six cars listed at auctions in Monterey this year. CSX2087, CSX2485, CSX3012, CSX3155, CSX3301, CSX3357.

A few of these are sort of following the auction circuit wanting to find a 'permanent' home. ;)
