I want to thank Jay for his positive attitude and proactive interactions with the Hurricane owners. Although I have not had direct conversation with Jay, I did witness his constant attention on the hurricane motor sports forum. In my estimation I feel Jay did a decent job winning the confidence of the existing owners through integrity and action behind his claims; which is not easy in a transition like this. With Jay, I felt that I could bring up an issue that belonged with the "old company" and he would find a way to make it right. I don't know who the new "face" of Hurricane will be but they would do well to emulate Jay's proactive communication style.

Yup, it is warm in Texas. You can sit back with a bag of popcorn and just listen and watch.

Yup....

:D :D :D

I am privy to most everything going on. First of all I would like to thank those who showed real class in their post. Some of you I know and I appreciate your kind words for all those involved. To the others airing dirty laundry is not cool. I want to let everyone know that there will be an announcement on the Hurricane site tonight if not as soon as possible on the current affairs of Hurricane Motorsports. Now to those who feel they had to put in two cents worth here is what i have to say to you.

Steve-Your post are pure chicken***t .You mentioned people leaving as board of directors, well you may have not have said my name but anyone around here knows I am one of those people you were talking about and quite frankly my business is not yours and you don't speak for me.I was never on the board of directors. My relationship with Hurricane Motorsports is nobodys business unless I want it to be. Basically don't act as tho you have a un-biased opinion when I KNOW how deep yours and Jays relationship runs. As far as the buldings STFU you don't know nothing about either one and it's not your business to know.

You know folks there are other things I say but it wouldn't be right. I think the world of Jay he is a great friend and always will be. I think the world of Chris and Ray they to are great friends and always will be. So things didn't work out well so be it .Jay he's gonna be just fine , he gotta bad ass gasser fixen to go down the strip and theres still alot of poker to be played at the shop. Chris and Ray they are gonna be just fine as well. Hurricane is gonna produce the finest cobra on the market and and who knows Chris may run a 3 in that beast he has called a fuel altered. There is no reason to impune anyones or any companys reputation not now not ever. It shows lack of class and ignorance and frankly I don't have time for it. As for me I know what my roll with Hurricane Motorsports is and in time so will anyone who I see fit to make it their business. But at the end of the day I get to go hone to my 3 1/2 month old son (I'm Brody Ellis and when I figure out how to use my arms we can fight about it) and I'm just fine

Hurricane has a great product in a segment of the market that is venerable to a weak economy. With steel prices doubling and petroleum through the roof (Is the price of glass going up too?) I find it hard to believe they can hold the line on prices. Hurricane is a great product for guys like me who have a limited amount of money to spend (If my budget was unlimited, I wouldn't consider a Hurricane. They don't hold a candle to some of the "hi end" products out there), and when times are tough we are the guys who must restrict our spending, or at the very least put off the decision. I hope the company can continue to offer the outstanding product it has become known for at affordable prices, for guys like me.

Quite charming for a first post. Somehow seems to be missing that good customer service vibe though.

Just my opinion as I am out shopping for a new Cobra vendor.......but glad to hear everyone is going to be OK.

Nice first post

Shannon,

Might want to start by going to Marketing 101 and learn a little lesson in Customer Service. Not the way to start off a new venue dealing to your future customer base.

Good Luck

Shades of Everett-Morrison....." I don't need to justify any more to any of you."

Real confidence builder, huh?

Spot On

John,

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps Julie and Shannon could hook up and compare notes. :p

Gregg

First off I don't need marketing 101, just ask any off the customers I have in my business. You know me and you know where my business is. Come by and I will show how my partner and I built a business on customer service. Now if your concerned with Hurricane Motorsports customer service call them , talk to them and I am sure any of your concerns will be addressed. I personally like dealing with people not a computer.

ShannonT 08-07-2008 08:50 PM

Gregg

I know why you are making these comments but it's a hell of a note since my partner and I and our business also made contributions to OC and will continue to do so . You or anybody else have a problem with me I'm easily found I don't need a computer to get it done so stick your comments.

The tone of this whole thread has moved into an unacceptable zone....

If there are person-to-person conflicts, I am suggesting that they be exchanged offline, via PM or e-mail.

The thread will stay, with replies to Jay that are appropriate.

thanks

Press Release (Arlington, Texas) August 7, 2008

Press Release (Arlington, Texas) August 7, 2008

In response to recent post and comments on Hurricane Motorsports web site and other sites on the internet CRW Management LP has made the following statement:

In recent days many comments and postings have been made that were misread as statements from myself (Ray White) or my son (Chris White). When in fact we have not made any press releases or statements as to the operation of Hurricane Motorsports or its move to Texas. We did in fact purchase the complete operation of Hurricane Motorsports from Michael Arps and Richard Burroughs in the month of June 2008. At that time Mr. Jay Nordstrom assisted us in the purchase and preliminary move steps. I did offer Mr. Nordstrom a position as Technical advisor and Consultant with the new operation.

The press release that was posted did have some information that I had stated in my rough draft. However after I left the office and was on the road to handle business for one of my other companies the Press release was modified with information that was not approved by myself or my son. The Corporation that was formed in the State of Texas (Hurricane Motorsports LLC) shows myself as President and Chris as Vice-President. Some statements were posted and were correct as to how we had planned on moving forward with the company, others were given a different view that I had not planned on discussing in any public format. My philosophy in business is that what is discussed behind closed doors is company business and only when all parties involved are comfortable with the product do you make announcements.

Now let me address a few of the items which have been posted, talked about and misunderstood in recent days:
It has been stated that there are multiple owners in the new Hurricane Motorsports Company. When in fact CRW Management has paid all cost for the purchase, moving expense and warranty repairs to cars that were delivered at time of sale for invoices presented to our company.

Another posted comment states that we have been ignoring the customer request and not sending out a press release shows that we don’t care about the Cobra family or our companies future. First of all we have been working day and night to get all assets of the company moved from Lee’s Summit, MO to Arlington, Texas. These processes have been completed and as I prepare this statement have company staff working on installation of and maintenance of all equipment, molds and jigs to begin production of the first Hurricane Motorsports –Texas Chassis and Body.

As for the statement that not making a post or press release is not caring for our customer base and future business. With my 25 plus years of business management I do understand that the customer is the most important part of a successful business. I also understand and believe that when you make public statements or press releases you must be ready to provide the products or service when you say you will. In attempting to be sure we were ready to support the dates and time lines for such announcements we have chosen to wait to make a public statement as to when production will begin.

As for not responding to a customer’s post for information about our products and services. Chris and I don’t feel it should be public record as to what was discussed about someone’s order or request. We have a policy of making personal contact by phone or email direct to the customer or future buyers of our products.
And last and very important to our future: Hurricane Motorsports LLC has not placed any contracts on property in the Dallas. I did have a contract for one property with one of my other companies that I am involved with that I choose to not close on due to information provided from outside sources and public records. As stated before I am involved in several business and do purchase properties for them. I am in fact going to be closing on one such property this month.

As you can see on our website we have in fact obtained a building and offices are set up to care for our customers needs and request.

The last comment that needs to be addressed is the statement that Two (2) Board of Directors have left the operation in the last week. Since Chris and I are the only listed officers of the corporation I find it hard to have Board members walking out on us.

Should anyone have further question or concerns please feel free to contact myself or Chris by one of the following methods.

My apologies and good will to all

Joe Wicked 08-08-2008 04:44 AM

I wanted to post one more comment to all here. I should have posted it yesterday, but I got busy and didn't get it done. Chris did take the time to contact me directly. He told me that they are here to stay and gave me his phone numbers and email to contact him directly if I had any further issues and questions. He also gave me a very small sample of where they are in getting ready. From his message I got the feeling that they are extremely busy and working hard and long hours to be ready to start production. I did ask follow up questions for my benefit, specifics to set my mind at ease that I will be treated well. I can understand delayed responses if you are out in the shop working and not on the computer.

Gregg(What's his name)? 08-08-2008 07:54 AM

Shannon,

No harm no foul. See you in Dallas in a few weeks. BTW Thanks for all your support to OC. Great organization.

OK,
A press release is all we asked for.

Shannon,
I agree, My apologies to all as well. I did not intend for this to become a soap opera, or to offend anyone. ESPECIALLY people whom I believe to be my friends. That does include you.

I do not wish hardship on anyone, Lord knows I have had my share and don't wish that on anyone.

Jay left Hurricane-Motorsports for his own reasons and we now have a public release from the company. If we choose to embrace the new Hurricane-Motorsports will be determined by how well they produce the product and not by its past. That is the way it should be.

I do hate very much that Jay is no longer involved. The company would have been very successful and productive with him as an insider, in whatever capacity.

Let's move on, and be friends. We have a saying here in the Texas Cobra Club. It is about the people, not the cars. Maybe for a moment, I forgot that. It won't happen again.

jwd 08-08-2008 08:15 AM

Thank goodness that's over. I have my nice ,warm, fuzzy feeling back. I hope the best for all involved, past and present.

Jim
