All the REAL shooters have numbers 110 and under...... And is it "genuine imitation leather" or just real naugahyde?

I'll bet there are a lot of postmen/postwomen cursing SAAC as they haul these monster tomes around their routes....................................

Thursday morning and still no registry at my door step.....I hope they remembered I moved from NJ to PA :p Going to have to go out and throw some extra oats on the ground for the pony express rider this week in order to entice him to deliver my registry before I headed down to SAAC on Saturday morning :JEKYLHYDE

:)

Mark,

I have no idea about the cover being real or not. I received the same letter with the picture that was posted on page 1 of this thread. I am just anxious to receive it so I can start reading about what has happened to the cars over the years since the 1997 Registry came out. I was just late getting my order in, so your #110 and below are going to be more impressive.
As for when I receive it, the way our mail up here works I receive my magazines about 1 month after everyone else on the club who subscribes to the same ones do. So I should receive mine around the last of September based on that.

Ron :p

Is it true it is a sin to take the wrapper off the 'bible"?

CSX3183 08-14-2008 08:28 AM

It's Here

Well if I got mine all the way out here in Vegas yesterday, everyone should have their's by today. I get my Snakebite at least 3 days later than those on the East Coast. Perhaps it has to do when you paid for it.

I totally forgot about it also.

So you decided to close your shop on Saturday? I'm going on Sunday. See you there.

What's up with the PA post office? I haven't gotten mine yet either.

Unlike others who ordered their numbered leather bound versions many years ago, I procrastinated and ordered the rarest of the registries, the unnumbered leather bound.

Yay! Got mine today. I helped a bit with the king cobra section, be sure to read that. Rick did a great job. I even got him to sneak some Bob McKee info in there. The Gerber-Payne / Peregrine / McKee Mk III has recently been found (with a Lola T70 coupe body on it). I saw it at Road America and met owner Casey Putsch

www.putschracing.com

He originally thought it was the McKee Mk I but Bob figured out it is the Mk III based on the wider bulkheads to accomodate a 427 or Quad Cam Ford.

Chuck,
Mine also arrived today. I haven't read the King Cobra section yet but so far page #50 is my favorite. :p

Wow...so do mine especially when I'm reading sitting on the pot. A paperback is a great idea.:)

:(

CSX3183,

Mine never came today either. I guess every state East of here gets preferential treatment. I will be surprised if I receive mine before the middle or end of next month based on how much longer it takes a regular magazine to get here. Most people have theirs at least 3 to 4 weeks before those of us up here in the Northern part of the state get ours.

Ron :p

rms427 08-14-2008 02:02 PM

I'm in Northern California and mine arrived today.

Got mine today but I paid for the leather bound edition and received the cardboard one........not a real real happy camper.

At least my car made it in it.

Yep me too. No leather but the car is there.

Mine came in the mail today.

From the saacforum, the Leather is black. Normal is dark blue.

SLHetal 08-15-2008 03:59 AM

Mine arrived in South Florida yesterday. Very pleased!

Finally got around to ordering mine and received it yesterday! My first look at one and how cool! A great foreward by Mr. Brock and tons of historical knowledge. Many thanks to Mr. Kopec and the rest of the team for putting together such a great book! Well worth the wait and the price!!!

I've never looked at the registry. Does it show (if the information is available) who the past owners of a car were?

There were two Cobras near where I grew up in the SF Bay Area. One (CSX 3119) was owned by pro golfer Ken Venturi and is now part of the Mallya Collection in Sausilito, CA.

I think the other car was a 289 (my memory is fuzzy) owned by a gentleman named Peter Grassi in Menlo Park, CA. Always wondered what happened to that car.

CoupedUp 10-07-2008 07:40 PM

From my initial scan it appears to only list current owners by chassis number, but I will check and see if there is more detail...

Doug
