No, I can't.
I think it is pretty safe to say we have built our last copper car.

CC members KHRACE that have a few items for sale here are the folks that have the copper Kirkey. They are a restoration shop in Gastonia NC.

This possible the car , as my friend is going to look at it in early morning. Another friend found the car an wants him to half car with him. I use to run family ford dearlership and race fords for many years and my friend contacted me to find out what i could. Now one of the guys would responded to my help said there was a copper shelby built. So could this be it or did this Kirkham really build one? Please respond back to email--badfrog931@yahoo.com thanks Fastfrog

Shelby never built a copper Corba.

Nedsel 08-26-2008 04:18 PM

Well, if this turns out to be the Kirkham car, then it sounds as if this case is solved. Let's all clap. That would mean the Clapping Carmel California copper corba constructed by Carroll caper is closed. And, if you never watched the Johnny Carson Show, you can be forgiven for not getting it.

I would imagine it is the copper Kirkham. If so it has a polished stainless roll bar and no engine or transmission.

Do you have pictures?

Given the poster's location...me thinks you are right. Talked to the two guys that bought it at the SLC airport when we were all leaving, and I recall they were from thereabouts.

That was one heavy sumb!tch.

RACERAL 08-26-2008 04:50 PM

Last I heard.. the copper Kirkham was in Gastonia.
For real.

Excaliber 08-26-2008 04:51 PM

Heres a link to the famous Johnny Carson "Carrol's Copper Corba Clapper Caper"...

You should hear Goerge Anderson do that routine...assolutely perfect. They have alot of time on their hands when the snow blows on the northern plains.

fastfrog:
Sgt Joe (Ned) Friday is correct. I think we can clap that this copper corba case is closed, of course if this is a copper-clad corba that could cloud the consensus and cause corba connoisseurs to contemplate another conclusion.

Signed,
Clueless

You are both right.

The alliteration was used by Johnny Carson and Jack Webb, aka Joe Friday in a classic The Tonight Show sketch.

A Corba is a car constructed by Carroll that continuously crushed Corvettes in the colorful 60's.

This explains why there is no drivetrain in the Corba. If you look closely at this rare car can you see two pedals a sprocket and chain rather than the usual three pedal setup?

...that could come in copper, causing a cacophony of clapping from the crowds.

Excaliber 08-28-2008 11:40 AM

Perhaps the car is in Greece, "Corba the Greek". :D

ken swart 08-28-2008 09:40 PM

Can someone clue me in about why this car even exists? Who wants a $125,000 car, before drivetrain, that is the color of a penny? Just keeping it shiny will be a full time job. I must be missing something.

In 2005, Kirkham experimented with a copper-bodied car for an anniversary special edition.

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/kirkham-motorsports/62944-new-kirkham-garage-art.html

They ended up being contracted by Ford to show a 40GT, copper-bodied vintage look with GT40 internals...
