Anyone ever seen this? Why does it seem too good to be true?

For a 100 bucks or so I might consider trying it on my wifes gigantic Suburban. Heck 1 tank of gas in that thing is just about that and the site claims fuel efficency increases of between 35% to 65%. It would pay for itself in about two tanks.

Because it is. Without pulling a 30' trailer full of equipment to separate the hydrogen you can't create enough usable hydrogen to power a car. There are several of these so called kits making lots of claims and none of which has been verified by anyone other than the guy selling it.

I was watching t.v. after the convention last night. T. Bone Pickens appeared on a commercial promoting natural gas conversions. He was sharing how Iran is moving in that direction. Iran has decided to free itself of gasoline dependency and sell all their oil to the rest of the world for big profit. At 120 octane and .60-1.85 a gallon equivalent, I am surprised neither party has embrassed this idea. How ironic would it be to be energy self sufficient; driving 12-14:1 compression cars with superchargers and sell off our some of our oil contracts with the middle east to China for five years and become debt free once again.

No savings for the typical consumer can be had from this hydrogen generator thing. Some savings CAN be had by those willing and able to do the ADDITIONAL modifications to actually make it work. You will need to remap the injector's to use less fuel and you have to modify the O2 sensor as well.

End result is that the hydrogen generator CAN work for SOME people who are skillful at employing it. It aint gonna happen for the vast majority of folks who will simply buy the kit, hook it up and think there getting better mpg. If you have to pay a mechanic to do the modifications (injector, O2 sensor) along with the added cost of additional 'fittings' to hook it all up this will greatly extend the return on investment. Assuming there will be any return on investment at all...

My ex father in law had a water injection on his van. It was a simple plate under the carb, a 3/16 id hose and a 1 gallon container. There was a valve that would regulate the water being brought in thru the carb plate. He said that it helped in the mixture and made his van run smoother and cleaner. Of course he had an old 67 Chev van with no smog. He said that it worked well for him.

My two cents...Natural Gas vehicles
It worked for 35 years for a major Southern California gas utility. We had set ups during the 1970's that we called "Dual Fuel", cars and light trucks that ran on natural gas. In those days the cars ran great for the most part, but wouldn't switch back and forth from natural gas to gasolene very well and the natural gas had no power and only a 100 mile range.

Now in the 1990's and today the Company has vehicles that are dedicated to natural gas only, from the factory. These vehicles run great and are very powerful. The big problem is going to be "range" or distance you can travel with only two small cylinders for compressed fuel storage, "that old 100 mile range thing".

Natural Gas currently powers all the transit buses in the LA area (converted diesels) and works quit well. Natural gas is great for fleet uses with vehicles that only travel short distances around town. When I left the Company (1998)we had about 60 fueling stations around LA area where you can pull in and refill your vehicle in about two minutes, this worked out well for fleet users and special vehicles that participated in the program.

The way I see it, the only way to get the range is by liquifing the gas to 300 degrees below zero) in a special thermos bottle cylinder fuel tank, we've had this ability for several years.
The next thing is to develop a system to install quick fill stations at existing gas stations around the states where there are gas mains available.

The next thing is to have the feds. force all manufactures to offer a dual fuel vehicle. A new "dual fuel" vehicle that would run on gasolene and natural gas will do the trick. The performance will be much better than our 1970's program because with computer controlled motors and fuel injection the performance will be there.

Anyway, you can see that if we will spend the money..Natural gas will be a great alternative to gasolene.

I bought the manual and it is very easy to build. Unreal how simple it really is. They have included plans on how to trick the O2 sensors without a bunch of crap involved. I think about 2 components to do it. I read a trailer full of equipment in a few posts up but that is not the case. If you do more research you will see that it is far from a scam. The media and government simply have us to believe that it will not work. It only makes sence that it can be done. I am going to put it in my Mustang and we will see from there. How come so many people claim it works and so few claim it does not and the majority listen to the minority. Think outside the box folks.

Check out T. Boone's many companies with a vested interest in Gas production & distribution. Do you really think he is spending his money on TV ads just because he is a nice man?

Why does the taxpayer need to pay for alternative fuel development. Just another Federal boondoggle. Its a free market and the best alternative fuel will come to the forefront, but not for a looooong time. The price of gas in many countries has been above $4 a gallon for decades. We are just feeling the pinch, and people are going nuts about the price. Buy a more fuel efficient car ... drive less ... take public transportation ... drive slower.

I want a nuclear powered car. Zero to 60 MPH in 0.1 second! :p

I get a sack of potatoes from the grocery store every week... just stick a penny in one side and a galvanized nail in the other. the circuit generates enough juice to reduce the battery drain in my Prius by 50%.

Dan, have you expeimented with a variety of potatoes?? Do sweet potatoes create more, less or the same amount of electricity?? Are the new hybrid potatoes as good as regular Idaho ones?? I have been interested in spud technology since I was introduced to it by Mr. Wizard...man he was ahead of his time :-). Does the $25 include a starter bag?? 5 or 10 lbs???

I've been experimenting with "Potato Buds" - figure on adding some water and it should generate enough electricity to power itself (or at least cook itself for dinner while I drive).

If I grew a large enough potato, could I carve out the seating area and run 4 electric motors on it to drive the wheels?? How many miles per 'tater would I get?? say about a 1200lb 'tater.

The coversion cost of adding CPN (Compressed Natural Gas) to an originally gas powered manufactured car depends on many variables of which I am not qualified to speak about, but I read that it runs between $5k - $8k. I have seen these cars selling used for very competitive prices, altought they are all chvys or Fords, no Caddies. I would definetly consider buying one if and when I need to replace one of my vehicles, especially since I already have NG in my house and my commute to work is close.
