Superformance Ride Height

What are you guys running your ride height at. Mine is at 27" from the center of the fender lip to the ground and she seems to look too high. I'm running Goddyear GTII tires 255-15 and 275-15.

Greg, some guys are running as low as 26.5", but that's probably the lowest you can go and not worry too much about bottoming out. I'm running about 26.75" on all corners and I still have 4.5" of clearance at the oil cooler shroud as well as the bellhousing and oil pan. Never had any issues at that height and the extra 1/4" makes a big difference in the looks department.

Also don't forget that the more you monkey with the coil overs in adjusting ride height, you do/can throw off the weight balance of the car and the alignment, accordingly.

I'm at 26.75 inches ... no problems. Probably has sagged a quarter inch in the 17K miles. Dennis Olthoff recommends 27 inches as a minimum.

I noticed my car was set-up pretty low when I took delivery of it. I never thought about measuring it, but just did.

25.5" Rear
26.5" Front

I've never noticed any problems with car bottoming out or with tire contact.

SPF recommends 27" as min. Dennis also states that also!

Greg...running the same tires Goodyear 255/275

I lowered mine to a look that I liked....26.25" front and 26 rear. I had also asked Dennis a few years ago he said no more then a inch.

That is how my car sets also, Dennis set it up, I have never really measured it though, always though it set a little low in the rear but looks good!

I'm 1/2" lower than Tony's set-up. No issue or problems at 25.5", so what's the downside?

I was planning on waiting until I decided to replace the tires to get a full alignment and 4 corner balance.

Lost a bunch of pics due to a computer crash, but here's a picture on the road.

I believe Dennis said if it's lowered too much it creats a negative camber condition.

Daryl,

I think you're right. I'm running the 295/50-15 Avid's on the back, with 255's on the front. Based on that, my ride height may still be a bit low...but it looks good. :D

Do you have 295's on the back? What is the ride height on your car?

Greg Curtis 09-22-2008 02:21 AM

Thanks guys for your responses. I may monkey with it a little bit at a time until I get the look I want. Got the car in 2002 but only have 6500 miles on it so tires still look great but they are at least 6 yrs. old.
