Thunderbird IRS & Brake upgrade

Does anyone know of a brake upgrade that will fit onto the T/Bird IRS setup?

When I talk to the various manufacturers, they say they don't have anything. But I suspect they are talking about standard conversion of a SuperCoupe, not using components and modifying them to fit onto the IRS knuckle.

My build is a Hurricane using 93 knuckle and brakes.

Thanks

Paul

anything for a IRS mustang cobra will fit! you'll have to re-drill or replace the hub ass'y if you want too change the bolt pattern. re-drilling is more popular since its a lot cheaper than buying new hubs! tbird guys do it alot to fashion mustang wheels!

Check with Forte's they have some good caliper bracket upgrades for stuff like that. If you can't get them I can help you make them.

Tons of upgrades are available for the T-bird IRS rear. Everything up to Cobra brakes, etc... as long as you know which brackets to use or where to get them. Disc brakes R US has some packages you can use also.

One of the easiest and cheapest upgrades is to install Porterfield R4 pads on the existing calipers/rotors and you'll gain a bunch of stopping power. If you are looking for bling, there is lots of it available. Best resource is probably ffcobra.com as there are tons of guys over there using the T-bird IRS with upgrades.
