sunvisor mounting screws damaged tread

The 4 small screws that hold the sunvisor mounting bracket have the tread stripped. I don't really want to force larger metal screws into the windshield frame. Has that happened to anybody else and what is the best way to fix this?
This is only on the driver side, the passenger is fine.
thanks

This is a toughie if it is in the frame itself. You would be well advised to remove the glass before working on the holes.

Get a Metric bottoming tap (or the next "inch" size) carefully drill and tap to next size.
The threads are SAE but the next size to remove the least material might be Metric.
I feel your pain, but it can be fixed.
