footbox modifications
I am 6'3" and am looking for anyone who has modified their foot box for more room at the pedals. It seems to me that the transmission tunnel could be reduced in size by about 3"-4". has anyone tried this??? I gained 8" by removing the seat. Also went back 8". We are going to construct a seat with no track under the seat. Nice being below the windshield. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a Contemporary Classic Cobra.

David,
A lot of people have made changes to the foot box and transmission tunnel. I know that Bill Emerson of Emerson Motor sports who lists on here has made a lot of modifications of all kinds to Cobras over the years. You could contact him and ask him what he did as I know he did narrow a transmission tunnel for one person but don't remember how much. He has built cars for people from 6' to 5'10 and weights from 150 to 350 pounds. And many of the others here have changed their cars in various ways to gain room. Ron |
