New A & C Collectables Build - 429 vs 513
I will be starting my cobra build (A & C Collectables) shortly. I have a 1969 429 Thunderjet which I plan on building up - cam/rockers/intake/pistons - My question is should I just go to a "513" stroker ? I understand I'll gain torque and lower it's peak (hp & ft/lb) but is it worth the difference? Also - this motor only has 11k on it since I've had it forever (disassemble) - The pistons look good, could I just get by with rings (if clearance is ok)?
So will the 429 scare me enough in a cobra or do I need a "500+" for that? Thanks, PJ |
Nothing wrong with a budget build. If the engine's okay, just rebuild it as is and install it. It'll be great for cruising and have plenty of torque. Good luck.
