Chip

Post some pics in your gallery. It did look like an exceptional car. Brian Angliss did a great job with them as total factory built cars. Many say better than AC and KMS? This is assuming that most KMS have been left nude. The painted KMS cars I have seen have been very high quality. Problem with KMS cars might be the builder themselves, a great build with great attention to detail will result in a fantastic car and high $ investment. A base KMS build is still better than what I own however falls short with the totally authentic look using aluminum pedal arms, 15" wheel, suspension and other stuff found as standard. Fully optioned really makes a difference.
This is one fine KMS out of the NE which easily compares to AKL standards: (With tubular suspension and great attention to detail)

Or this one done to the nines....
Started with a Kirkham Motorsports rolling chassis with an aluminum body and original style tubular steel frame. Completely stripped car down and rebuilt as an orignal Cobra ground up restoration project using all period correct parts and many parts from original CSX cars. Powered by an NOS 427 Ford Side Oiler engine. All restoration work done by specialists that have worked on original Cobras since the 60s and have restored over 40 originals.

The credit for the paint and the assembly should go to the shop that did the body-off restoration, which would leave little fit and finish done by the factory.

From the ad:
".... that has been totally body off restored about 8 years ago"

Pretty car.

Again you are right! :D

I read in Shelby's magazine that Angliss bought the supercobra that went off the cliff into the pacific. Does anyone know if he still has that car or did he sell it?

The original cobras were crude compared to the Kirkham's, the body panels varied in size as much as an inch side to side. The Kirkham's are far better material and craftsmanship. Not much thought behind that remark!

I imagine ChipBeck has his Kirkham finished more or less like it was delivered from Kirkham. Probably not much interior other than powder coated sheetmetal and probably not painted. Compare that with beautiful paint and interior work on CSX30601 and you should be able to see his point.

I guess I don't see the interior work, but I'm not an expert. There are a couple of door hinge covers (by the way where do you get these?), carpet on the rear bulkhead and door pockets/panels. Am I missing something? Beautiful car no doubt, but the Kirkhams can do this at their shop as well.

Shelby has the covers and they fit a Kirkham perfectly.

Mickmate has covers in aluminum so they can be painted, polished:D or what ever you want!

The plastic ones can also be bought from Cobra Restorers.
