I have a direct lift, 8000 lb model and cost 2100 delivered and installed. I have a 11'6" ceiling so it works well for me.
|
I would be interested in a group buy, if anyone else is interested. As usual the most band for the buck, and I do not mind spending a little more if I get something for it.

Just saw the Prokar 4 post lift
I just saw the Prokar 4 post life at a Zepherhills Fall Auto show. The lift seems to be very well engineered. It does not require anchoring to the floor; the leg self-plumb. It has cable adjustments and lock height adjustments at each corner. It also has two locks on each post; one is manually operated and the other senses any slack in the cables and engages immediately.

Yes, made off-shore. You will need some hydraulic fluid to make it work. http://www.americanautomotiveequipme...s/SS7000-2.jpg Works perfectly. http://www.primequip.net/images/Lift.jpg |
Larry,
That looks exactly like one I just put together in my Texas home. DX-7 sound familiar? 3 gallons of hydraulic fluid and it works great. |

I was talking to another buddy, who told me that he and his friends had researched alot of lifts and decided that the ones built by greg smith equipment http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/ were the best for the money. |
Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experience and opinions. Much appreciated.

Chuck,
Whichever lift you decide to go with, ....MAKE SURE TO USE TRUE GRADE 8 FASTENERS. |
I purchased the Direct Lift, ProPark 7 from Greg Smith Equipment. Mostly likely the same units as the American Automotive lift and made off shore. I also ran around the house with scissors as a child and cheated death.
Came with drip trays, ramps, casters, and jack tray. I also purchased the 3500 hydraulic jack. It's a got-to-have. http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/ph...ACK-3500-2.jpg |
How did the lift workout for you????Has anyone ever had a saftey lock break or fail? This lift does seem to be a good deal, esp. w/those optional rail jacks.
|
I have a American Custom Lift Model ACP-7 and have had NO PROBLEMS at all. http://www.aclifts.com/autolifts/4post.asp. I have not had any problems with the unit swaying or moving around. Just wish my ceiling was a bit higher. Believe me if I did not trust my lift I would not put my cobra under it.
