There was an electric cobra on SUPERCARS EXPOSED on the speed channel. Had like 1000+ lb-ft. It was a pretty cool thing to see.

Thank god I will die before that is forced upon us.

I saw an electric powered rail run out here in AZ and he was in the 8's. The motor was less than 18" diameter and the car weighed about 1100#s, as I remember. It's 'way beyond me as to why, but the car used a bunch of little motorcycle batteries rather than automobile types. fffft and away it went.

Pollution
Unless this guy is using solar cells to charge his car, he is still polluting by plugging it in to charge it. The smog just is not where the car is, but it is being produced. No free lunch. Still cool though.
