The Hushpower sidepipe muffler, which is a subsidiary of Flowmaster, is a slightly quieter muffler and, according to their technology section of their website, their exterior muffler surface temperatures are reduced.

I have "tested" mine out yet by touching them, but it was a major reason for my choice.
