Years ago, I personally spun a Holman & Moody built 427 Cammer Mustang over 9000 rpm (regularly). Problem is, It got worth too much money & was afraid of breaking it, so it got sold to a collector. It's still owned by that collector & gets babied.

I can swap him a nice 390 cut out for his `stang, i will take the cammer away on a wheel truck. lol

I think a Cammer in an old Falcon would be neat. I'd make it a real sleeper (Rat Rod) & really put the surprise to a few guys at the Stop lights!

I to would also be interested in this.
Guymacint I also would be interested in your motor. Who's block? Who's heads? What gear kit are you talking about on your profile? How long have you been building FE motors. A little more history would be nice. Your first post does leave for some questions. Are you on another forum? Your prices are also below KCR's motor price of being in the 30K's. A first name to call you would also be nice. Looking forward to talking to you. Rick L.

Anyone know if Holman can/will supply Cammers?
Anyone know if Earl Wade (Nicholson's crew chief) is still building Cammers? |
Holman , can supply cammers but no vintage motors.
|
I have a couple of private cammer sources, one with factory original aluminum heads, if interested send me a PM.

He's around and is at the cammer summit in Feb
ERA Chas Earl Wade is still around and building cammers on a limited basis. There is a Cammer summit by invitation in Feb in Fla that has some of the best cammer owners and builders around. Except for a couple of west coast guys Like Ed Pink and Joe B, everyone else is there. As far as Holman, I am sure they have some parts kicking around and can also get new old stock for alot of $$$$$$. Thats all you need. Peter at ERA did say that having a Cammer in a cobra was like killing a bug with a cannon. Stupid power and speed with a 160 to 180 mph range.:MECOOL::D. I know my foot boxes will need to be trimed, I all ready have the room and run the wide 17" wheels and tires. Would have to go and get a pilot licence to drive this. Anyway, hoping we have found another good machinist and engine builder for FE motors. Rick L.

Anyone have any HP and torque numbers for a well built cammer? My engine builder friend has built several cammers and has said that he has always been disappointed with the dyno results.

Cammer Available
I have access to an original Ford 427 Cammer. It is not a crate engine, but it only has two hours of dyno time on it. Do not have dyno sheet but was told it ran 650 hp on single quad. Purchased from the previous owner in Lapine Oregon 22 years ago and kept in storage since then. All original engine currently apart for inspection. Pictures available upon request. vorderma@gmail.com

I also have 3 original cammers I will be selling. One has the original XE castings on the front cover (experimental engine prefix) and the original prototype cams with scribed XE prefix on them also. PM me if interested. Bob Q

Posting "for sale" ads with price, pictures and details about the engines would be a great first step, since anyone spending the big bucks on a SOHC engine will want to start there.
