tired and worn out
The build was on a roll for months, actually weekends, but winter in the northeast has set in for the first time in 8 years. No time means no build, which means no ride, which means no fun. After stumbling blocks, how do you all get back in the saddle? I'm almost tired of looking at the space in the garage that forces me to work on my snow equipment in the snow. PS I built my 3 car garage 15 years age so the old bones stayed away from the cold, cold snow. All that is left is bodywork, and more bodywork. As you all know. But inspiration is needed . Help!

You are suffering from extreme Cabin Fever:eek: Take a deep breath and get on the phone with other similarly afflicted friends and neighbors and throw a Cobra body work party! Pizza, beer, sand paper, rasps, bondo whatever! It'll shake out the cobwebs and get you out of the snow! I even went out and helped a friend with an El Camino last week! Damn thing had the distributor jammed up against the firewall of all things! But we kept throwing logs into the stove and the fog passed............

The cabin fever is apparent, but the boys in my hood would prefer me helping them. Which I do. My space in the back seems to be only for me. How would you propose to find a friendly sanding crew. Budweiser is wavy panels. Vermont is close, come on down. Actually, my spare time has become a minimum, and the 9 month build will last a little longer. Hopefully no snow this weekend. So how long have you lived in the Rochester area? Certainly a little cold and blowing snow should not be an issue. Get out to the garage and get back to work.

Post a picture in your garage of how the car will look when completed. That was my inspiration. It's hard to get inspired when the car is all apart and looks like crap with all the body work being done. The body work and paint is your most time consuming part of the build, it seems like it will never end.
Check out you local vocational school, I am shure you can find a few aspiring students more than willing to help you out. |
Winter is the time in the Northeast when you "bank" time with your wife. Although, I have an entire front suspension I want to replace, I'm doing the domestic thing so that when the better weather rolls around, I'll be gone, but not forgotten.

Me I generally fire my gas grill cook some burgers and get a 12 pack for my friends and were good to go. The gas grill does wonders heating the garage. Just watch for how much beer you let them drink when they are operating any power tools!
