Ceramic coating - Accessories Plus, Belmont CA
Just got my ERA 289FIA headers back from Accessories Plus (Belmont, CA) and they look Sah-weeeeet!
I got the silver ceramic coating, and they did great work. Can't wait to get these back on ERA FIA#2108. Here's their ad from Cobra Country, in case anyone wants to check them out: http://www.cobracountry.com/ap/home.html DD |
Doug,
Doing some research on Ceramic coaters and I came across your post from a while ago! Have some questions: - Did you have the entire header coated, inside & out ... even on the lower portion of the collector? - If the entire header was coated, how did it effect the slip fit of the side pipes over the collector? - How are they holding up? Thanks! - Tim |
ERA recommends not coating the final, what 1-1/2"? I followed ERA's recommendation. They feel pretty tight and I don't think I would want to try to fight the slip-fit up on coated headers.
When I first got them back, they were shiney and polished. They looked amazing. The shine has dulled a bit, though they are otherwise holding up well. I haven't looked into how to repolish them so I would ask the expert in Belmont. I'd go there again. On my part, I am looking for someone that can shorten my headers and secondary pipes and install some three-bolt flanges on them---slip-fits are just a little too leaky for my taste. I want a good seal that lasts. DD |
