I did see on TV some time back that they and other foreign car makers had rented a lot of property down in L.A. near the docks to park new cars on as they couldn't get the dealers to take them. They showed a couple of lots full of them, but I don't think there is that much property down there near the docks that is empty for them to keep parking them all over. And with the paper work being so messed up, I wonder how many could be borrowed and it would take them a while to miss them.

There is a local out of business grocery store nearby and in the parking lot are about 90 brand new Prius(s) ... all lined up and nowhere to go. They have been there for a few months now. My guess is they were ordered when gas was $4 a gallon and Prius(s) were selling like hot cakes, but by the time they arrived, the car sales landscape had changed.

Boy has it ever. I saw on TV this morning that some dealer, I forget where was offering a smaller brand new car for $1 dollar if you would buy one of the big SUVs he has on the lot. Our local Ford dealer is advertising on TV for the first time in years. They have a big inventory of unsold cars and trucks and have even brought their prices down to where they are close to Corning where most people go.
