Titling a car in PA~please help
I have searched the forum and have found info that is misleading. I have a B&B roadster (66) that I just finished. It has a 1966 289 from a Mustang that I recently sold. I was "told" that this vehicle must first be inspected by one of PA's "Enhanced Vehicle Inspection Stations" prior to being registered and that it will be registered by year of manufacture and not year of engine. I have seen newer cars (built within last few years ) titled in PA as 65, 66 etc. on this website. What is involved in getting the early registration? I plan on taking the car to one of these stations next saturday and wanted to get this resolved before then. Thnaks, Brian

In Pa your vehicle will be registered as a specialty vehicle. their will be no year assigned to it. It will be emmissions exempt

The only way to title a kit cobra as a 1965 in Pennsylvania is for the car to have come from another state already titled as a 1965. and I mean if that's how the state where the car came from LEGALLY titles kit cobras, TITLE SERVICES ARE ILLEGAL, no matter who you use. Your car IS NOT a 1965, so to legally title it in PA it will have to go thu the PA Special Construction process. Do it by the book and you will have no problems, try and fool the "man" and it will co$t .

I just went through the process in April 2008. As long as everything is in order with your car for the "Enhanced Inspection", it should be a pretty smooth process. I had my title and tags back within a week of the inspection. The registration does come back with no year assigned to it and it will be titled as Special Contruction.
