Lift installer

Does anyone know of a good lift installer in the northern il. area ? Not sure which lift I'm gonna get yet but I'm sure the installer mite have some good ideas.....THANKS

Just so you know; it's not all that complicated to install it your self. MY 12 yo son and I picked ours up from the freight terminal, loaded/unloaded and installed it by our selves.

I picked up my 4 post at the terminal and did the same - unloaded it
and put it together. Was going to get the neighbor to help some but he
wasn't home so I just kept putting parts together and danged if it didn't work!
Even with the spotty instructions wasn't bad.

Put my 4 post together myself also.

Not that difficult. The runner with the hydraulic ram is extremely heavy though.

Chris,what lift did u go with ??

HI Cobra 03-12-2009 09:22 PM

Mine was the Danmark 7X (I think). It was the larger model and yes the
ramp with the ram was heavy!

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-12-2009 09:36 PM

Here's the one I went with.

The 8 plus raises a little higher if you have the ceiling height.

If you want to check it out feel free to stop on by some time.

I'm in the midst of the lift decision myself. I've narrowed it down to these three...I think..ha..ha..

I chose them because at the time they were using all US steel. Most of the discount lift manufacturers are not, it's from China and there have been some failures. Some of them may be fine but I've had some tools from NH Northern that seemed to be made of peanutbutter. That being said I couldn't see my self under a lift that had suspect steel in it. So if I were you I'd check on that and the hyd. cylinder size. Those two things should give you a good measurement of relative quality. JMO, Steve

Put it together yourself. If you cannot assemble yourself you probably should not get one. Assembling gives you the knowledge you need to inspect and understand where to lubricate and inspect.

Hey guy,
I had a 4 post lift put into my garage.
Gregg Smith in Indianapolis has a list of recommended installers you can use.

Sparks and others wanting a lift. I can still get you a good deal with my "group buy".
2 post and all that's needed is a 8' ceiling. Let me know.

I installed a 4-post with help from my GF. It's not difficult, and you only need a roll jack and a couple of jack stands to line up and position things. It also helps you to understand what you have.
