Bemini top

Just installed a Bemini top on my car. Works great. I will post pics and specs soon. If you are interested in getting one for your car, in the LA area, let me know, I will give you the name of the shop.:)

It took two days. and cost me about $260.00, but I had quotes up to $1000.00

I can't imagine driving with a Bemini. Do you plan to use it to keep the sun off while parked? Pics please. Thanks.

$260.00? Was that the total cost? Did the shop do the install? Where is the shop and what is the name? Side curtains too? Thanks, steve

He must mean a tonneau cover.

Bemini Top

The cost for the top material and labor was $260.00. I had to buy the 2 front bars that go over the windshirld, just like the ones used with the regular soft tops, they were about $180.00 from ERA. You can also get them from SPF, but they cost more. The frame for the top, I use my frame from the soft top that I have. The sides and back are open. There are 2 staps one on each side that connects to the snaps on the car for the regular soft top. If you want side windows and have the holes drilled in the top of your doors for the regular windows, you can have window made of plexy glass and use a 1" aluminum angle arm, I bought it at Home depot, and attach one side to the plexy glass with about 6 small bolts. then drill the other side so you can put a 3/8 bolt through it to go into the door holes. The window cost me about $100.00 to make. I'll try to get pics up within a week or so. Steve

No, not a tonneau, Wayne, but a partial top to knock the sun off.

Boaters call 'em "Bimini" tops, Jeepers call 'em "Bikini" tops.

I'm definitely interested in what it looks like. I know that the bikini top on my CJ-5 often made the difference between a pleasant summer drive and a brutal ordeal.

bemini top

Jeepsnake is right. it's a partial top to keep the sun off with no sides or back. I tested it when I picked it up. I took the car up to 75 with no problems. I'll try to get pics up next week.

I assumed it was a tonneau cover because of the low price. I have a bimini on my boat that isn't all that big and it cost $1000, 10 years ago.

Guess I need to see the pictures, but from the description, it sounds ugly.

Sorry.
