Need advice Cobra Purchase

I need some experienced Cobra Owners to give some feedback and opinions on the Unique and FFR. How do they stack up? What are the good features and negative ones for each? Which is better? For under $30K, what Cobra would you recommend? Thanks in advance to all.

You'd be hard pressed to find a decent Unique for less than $30,000.

Jms,

Since I see that your profile says you are in California, try looking on Cobra Country and in the For Sale ads here on CC to get an idea of what you might get for $30K. Also any car with the SB-100 number is going to cost more as the Cal. market is quite limited by this 500 per year registration problem. I have seen some very good buys, but they don't have the SB-100 number.
The Unique is a really good car and the Factory Five can be made into as good of a Cobra as any of them if you want to do the work.

If you want to spend 30K, here is how to do it, spend $23K on a cobra, MRMUstang has one for sale right now and then spend the 7K on paint and repairs. YOU will have to work ALOT on a 30K cobra, however you could get a pretty darn "new" bdr with under 1K miles for $39K. So try to come up with another 7-10K and you will probably be alot more satisfied, you are definelty in the park at $30K and since you are already going that far go all the way.

Unique DPK

The Unique deluxe pallet kit is under 30K but you will have to supply drivetrain. We used to build fiberglass products when I was younger and I found the construction on the Unique to be better than most. They have also been in the buisness for a long time and have all the little unexpected suprises worked out. You can have it made set up to accept any engine/tranny combo you want.

There homecoming event is the first weekend in may, you should try to go and see the shop and many different examples of how different peopld build them. Some for show, some for daily driving.

That being said if you build it yourself you will appreciate it even more.

A friend bought a Unique 427 s.o. Momar fuel injection for $35,000 a couple of months ago out of KY. Very nice car just need the fuel injection dialed in. He is going to take it to Wayne Presley in a couple of weeks. This car was a steal. I think I saw a Unique for sell in Ga. for $30,000 last month. Great deal.

If I had my choice between a Unique and an FFR for $5000 differents, I would take the Unique any day.

I think Jack Long would sell his red FFR for $30,000 and Coach Mike has a Red Hurricane 428/461 Keith Craft FE 601 hp 619 tq for $45,000. It has a hard top and all the bells and whistles.
