How to wire neutral switch ??

Hi Guys,i have a t-5 with my 302 and i'm using Tilton hydraulic pedal set with a CNC slave cylinder for my clutch and i was wondering if somebody has the same set-up and how to wire the neutral switch, maybe somebody has a diagram or idea how i can wire the switch.
Thanks for any replies.

The neutral safety switches used with automatic transmissions were just wired in series between the ignition switch and the starter.
Once the pedal is pressed, the switch will close and allow juice to flow from the ignition switch to the starter (or starter relay switch).

Leave it out...

Michel,

Leave the neutral safety switch out. I say this because the day will come when you need to start it in gear. The clutch master or slave will die in the middle of the street or something, and you'll need to be able to turn the starter over in gear.

Ask me how I know!:o

You can get both world if you are willing to do the work.

The switch needs to be a 'CLOSED' connection when the trans is in neutral.

Check this with an Ohm meter ( your average DVM for $5.00 can do this ). If it is closed, the resistance reading will be zero or very close to zero.

Run two wires to the starter solenoid. Remove the wire from the key ( this should be the small wire ) and connect it to the key wire.

Look if you have two big wires and two small wires, one is the resistor bypass and you do not want that one. You can test by jumping ( with the car in neutral ) from a small wire to the battery. If the start engages, that is the wire from the key.

Anyway, connect the key wire to one of the wires from the neutral switch. Connect the other wire from the neutral switch to the starter solenoid.

NOW, if you want to over ride this switch for any reason, place a panel switch in the dash that is wired across the two wires you dragged up from the neutral switch.

If you need to start it in gear, flick the switch and rock and roll.

Hope this helps.

:o)

You have a point here !

Yeah i might not wire it,one less trouble,i have enough,oh i should say challenges. Plus if i get stuck on a train track 'cause the engine died or something else went wrong then what. By the time you unstrap from this thing, you're dead. Always good to have secondary power to move the car without having to climb out.
I guess i better learn from your badlucks, that's our job to not let that happen to the other members of our big familly, thanks bra !
