RU Crafters Cobra????

Has anyone heard of these guys?
Are they still around?

here is a build site from a guy that actually built one:

It looks decent from the outside. I'm not too sure about their chassis quality. Pricing isn't too bad.

Yea I heard of them, I built one. To answer your first question, no they don't make kits anymore. It was a small operation, the owner (Roger) was having trouble keeping help and he got behind on his orders. I had to wait over a year just to get my chassis from him.

To answer your second question, the chassis is well engineered. Mine is the backbone style, the car handles very good and rides like a "real car". I'm very happy with mine. :)

I believe if Roger could have kept his emplyee's and kept up with his customers orders, his business would still be thriving today. He just got so far behind and a lot of frustration set in. Its a shame that he closed up as this really is one fine kit.

The build website you looked into is a great site. I went to that website often for info to help me out on my build. Ralph (rawilson.net) is a great guy and he is a member of this forum.

I have some pictures in my gallery of my build. Also, go to the "RU Car Crafters Social Group" forum here on CC & you'll see six other RUCC owners. Ralph's car is one of them. I think there's about nine guys here on CC that own these cars.

I am, a RU owner / builder as well. I agree, it is a real shame that Roger could not keep the company going. I think his kit was one of the top kits in the price range, a little unknown to most, but once you looked into and saw all of the safety and structure features that were built in to his back bone chassis you would really be suprised. I have a few pictures of mine as well in my gallery, not many during the build, refered mostly to Ralphs web site for build information and details.

RUCC Cobra

I'm another proud owner of a RUCC car. Just finishing up. I have to agree that this is a very well built car. Don't count on any support from Roger, but there's a good group of guys in this forum. They are all willing to help. I wouldn,t be afraid to buy another one. Any questions just ask. Phil
