Not to take anything away from the effort to machine the adapters (which are very good quality), but there's a lot more work involved in making complete hubs.
Think of it this way... for the front hub, we machine a 45 pound slug of high-strength alloy to 8.5 pounds, with tolerances down to 0.0002" on some critical areas. A lot of machining of very hard material. The rear is similar except we also have to broach the internal spline. Unfortunately, at our volumes, it's an expensive undertaking. |
