Battery question
I've read that a manual fan switch can drain a battery if the fans are used for too long.
I thought the alternator provides electricity to the car? Please explain!! Rodney |
The 2 fans on your Superformance are the biggest users of power on the car. The manual fan switch if left on with the car off would obviously drain the battery over time, But having the fans both running for an extended period of time with the car at low rpm’s could also put a big drain on the battery because the alternator is not charging at full capacity at lower rpm’s. I think it’s a minor issue…

Thanks for the explanation, Blas.
BTW, did you get my brainbuster PM? |
Not sure what a brainbuster PM is...so probably no I didn't.
But your SPF Wiring Diagram is in the mail on Sunday morning...Sounds like you got that manual fan switch up and running, well done. Don't forget to check the 2 nuts on the the fuse. They should be nice and snug, Check the ground post nut too... Blas#760 |
