Budget help
Hey all,
Last summer I purchased a "kit", Basicly I have a good body, good frame and a working 1972 Ford 351C engine and a 3 speed ford auto trans and a 9" ford rear. I think I have all of the parts that go on the outside. IE head lamps, roll bar including unfinished side pipes (no headers). For the interior I have nothing but a dash, rv mirror and seats. I have been deployed for the last few months and with my following orders I will not be able to resume the project for another 4 years. I have $10,000 saved up now, how much more should I save up to make a good daily driver. I am far from rich, I am ok at saving! I just want a good looking respectable car to drive on the weekends with my wife and kids sometime, this has always been a dream of mine. I do have some pictures posted on this site. I think, if all goes well I will have $15,000-20,000 when I return. I will have to pay someone to do a paint job. Single color, perhaps a subdue stripe. Thanks for the input! |

Look at my car what you see is about a 30k investment $7500. for paint and body work and i gave $7600. for the body, frame, windshield package ,wheels and tires are a big expence also, just keep track of what you spend by keeping reciepts and shop around for best prices, hit swap meets and wrecking yards you may be surprised at what you might find
