Allen Mullally pictured with Cobra prototype on biz magazine cover
Remember that Cobra prototype that Carroll Shelby drove
and was in Motor Trend and various magazines, dark grey, beautiful all metal dash, but with a grille cavity that was un-Cobra like? Anyhow I thought that concept was dead and gone, or died a-bornin; and yet on some business magazine cover or maybe it was in business section of major newspaper the other day I saw an interview of Ford CEO Mullally and darned if he isn't standing by the same old Cobra roadster two seater prototype. Probably they didn't want to reveal any current thinking for prototypes of 2011, 2012 model years so don't have him standing by anything still not unveiled but the other interpretation is that Ford wants to fire up interest in this design again so they rolled that out as a photo prop. I think if they just changed the grille cavity shape to traditional Cobra they'd have something marketable.... |
