What is the best way to transfer $ for a car long distance?

I recently sold my spf to a buyer in Europe. It couldn't of been easier. He did a wire transfer fromhis account to mine for 1/2 and after he came to inspect teh car, he handed me a cashiers check for the rest and then I signed over the title. The car got shipped 2 weeks later. Wire transfer protects both of you being from the bank itself
