Cracked my window on the LIE . Are all the replacement windows the same ?
Found one on finish line , but afraid to order it and not have it fit ! I have a N.A.F 1985 built .

I think they make two different glasses for the Cobra windshield. Check before you buy.
Call Paula at Finishline and she should know. Great people to do business with.

Someone whacked mine with rocks. I got the glass for my CSX (glass, not the whole frame) from Shell Valley. Fit perfectly.

Peter..Most use the original shape...Superformance Cobra's #1250 to present are a little different and are only available from Superformance but you don't have to worry about that. Finish Line or Shell Valley is a good start.

Were you on the run out east yesterday ???

I sell windshields and replacement glass. $310 + shipping (for glass alone).

Thats an excellent deal....I here that SPF glass only is over $600.

blykins 06-01-2009 05:23 AM

Yep, I can do the whole windshield for $660.

emberglo66 06-01-2009 07:14 AM

blykins.

You have Superformance glass? for $310 + shipping?

I wasn't aware that the SPF cars were odd-balls with glass. I only thought that the BDR cars were a little different. Given what Tony said, I doubt my glass would fit.

Blas 06-01-2009 09:44 AM

SPF's have 2 different glass shapes and 3 different style frames. At one point during production, they changed the cowl height to allow installation the newer modular engine packages available. So the curve of the frame and glass are slightly more extreme. But that is not the biggest problem. Early windshields were extremely well secured in the frames - glued all the way around. The newer designed frames were only glued at the center. I don't remember what the transition car # is for either issue. Dennis Olthoff would be the man to call for info. Remember to be sitting down when asking for the price...
Blykins, can you make an exact paper tracing of the glass you sell? I'd like to compare it for shape. Not sure how to check curve...Yours might fit early SPF cars...

blykins...there not all odd balls....LOL..

Blas...Right around car #1250 the high cowl started...In the center of the windshied the high cowl cars are 1 inch shorter, all other dementions seem the same. SPF's before #1250 used original shaped glass. "

Came home, checked my references, my info says car #1200 approx...so we're close...

Something to consider:

Attached is a post I did in 2001 when a rock hit my glass windshield for the second time and I decided to replace it with Lexan.

Now 8 years & 18K miles later the windshield looks as good as it did when I installed it (no scratches, "tested" at speeds up to 125mph . I've heard a number of rocks hit it since and each time I just count the dollars the Lexan just saved me:D .

Here's a link to my original post

Lexan Windshield for Cobra

good luck,

SPF 2689 is sealed all the way around, they had to cut it out with a rasor knife.
