never thought my little car could stir the pot like this
|
No big deal it is just obvious your car is not CSX4032 as you have been claiming. True straight forward identity is better than trying to make your car something it isn't. |

The car itself never does. Typically there is an owner involved who made certain decisions along the way. This website and its members usually put things into perspective when someone is trying to pull off a magic trick. Poof! :p |
There is fAr more to story, but since you wish to add insult to injury.. nobody's fault but my own for not doing all the research needed first.. always thought the purpose of the club was to help each other figure things out. But as I can
see now its to show how arrogant you can be. You all have taught me a lot in a single thread. Please continue so that may become a better cobra owner. I'm not sure I can get there without a polished car. But I will try. |
Ebay listing is gone so we can't see the car in question. Which leaves any future visitors to this thread wondering...
Is Badtroy's car CSX4032 or not? Just asking a simple question, no intent to disparage anyone. |

I'm not sure where the arrogance is coming into play. Although it seems that you did not start the thread. Perhaps your car has an ID plate on it somewhere that says it is CSX4032? Perhaps it was arrogant of the thread starter to point out that your car is a B&B. Maybe you purchased your car thinking it was a car built by Shelby Automobiles? If so and you paid a premium over the cost of a B&B car, then perhaps you might have a case to go after the seller for misrepresenting the car as something it was not. On the other hand if you purchased your car knowing that it was not a car built by Shelby Automobiles and were not aware of the significance of a CSX4000 series serial number, why not just enjoy your car for what it is? You don't need a polished car, an ERA, two single hoop rollbars, a small block with webers, an automatic transmission, solid lifters or whatever someone else feels is important to them. Hopefully you can enjoy what you have and not worry about everyone else's opinion on what features of their cars are important to them. I'd like to hear more of the story... |
I have a bit of trouble believing anyone could mistake a replica for a CSX, especially come purchase time. If someone offers you a chunk of blue glass on the street for $25 and says it's the Hope Diamond...

That was "Pawn Brokers", knowing the replica market that particular show was a real hoot. Those guys could NOT have been THAT dumb about it all, in my opinion. Good for the show, the mystery, the intrique, the classic "is it real" question (never actually answered by the way). I think theres a big difference from a guy on the street asking if it's real and a real buyer asking if it's real. :)
|
I suppose it's just possible that someone could buy a CSX and never really know what they're buying - money does not always equal brains. I find it very unlikely that someone could own, and then go to sell, such a vehicle and be ignorant about it. It's an order of magnitude less likely that someone could think they had a "real" Shelby and assume (as in "take on") a CSX number in innocent ignorance.

I notice that he hasn't commented or clarified the story any. |

Also as said above, just enjoy the car for what it is. It's still a head-turner. |
An easy way for me to tell if it is a csx car or not, very simple, 3 things. If the right hand, side pipe hits the fender and the paints chiped its a csx, or if you can see the engine from the inside of the car looking thrue the steering column, and in a big block car the right side of the engine hits the firewall, as in valve cover or cylinder head.To me a very expensive car, shouldnt be doing those things, but from what I have been told thats the way they were back then.

We would love to hear the story...? Insult to injury and arogance I'm afraid was added by you when you were telling everyone in the club that your car was CSX4032. We simply didn't think so, since we have seen a lot of cars over the years. We are here to help, but it is hard to help a new member when the first time we meet them, they misrepresent their car to everyone in the Club. We would love to hear the story when you have the time to share it with us. |
