Roll bar installation question
 hey guys,i'm temporarily installing my roll bars which are 1.500" in diameter and i noticed that the diagonal bars that attach in the trunk have a small hole drilled through,i thought it was to put a 1/4 bolt but to my surprise it's smaller, looks like 10/32. What do you guys put there normally ? Should i drill and put a bigger bolt but I don't know what's going to happen to the chrome if i drill through. My concern is if there's a roll over, what would hold the bar from beeing compressed down snapping that small bolt. I think a grade 8 bolt in there would be more appropriate.
Thanks |
We use two grade 8 3/8" bolts for the rear brace attachment. Chrome drills fine with a good drill, just put some anti rust juice on the bare metal.
