Making a Cobra run cool

After many trys I have FINALLY achieved a Cobra that runs cool. :D. Use a 180 degree thermostat, 2 row radiator, and a 180 degree sending unit with a fan for a Lincoln Mark VIII. This set up works great!!!
I cannot believe my car runs so cool. Run it hard and then get into a bunch of city stop and go traffic and it just sits at 82C. Also, get yourself a 100 amp alternator, 50 amp in line fuse, and use 10 gauge wire on the fan. Done deal.

Your set-up

Hi MDMAN, Glad to hear the big fan worked, many other car builders use this fan.

Can you share the following with us. Engine known power rating, expansion tank/surge tank you are using ?
Also the Rad core size dimensions (L x W x T) and tube sizes, 1.0" , 1.25" or 1.5" ?

The engine is a 427 FE bored and stroked to 454 with 470 horsepower and 585 feet of torque. Hydraulic roller cam. 870 cfm Holley. Old school. Contemporary Classic car. Jag suspension. ET Street drag radials. Locker in the rear. Top loader. Expansion tank in a small aluminum jar like job located on the side of the engine compartment. Radiator is a Griffin rated for 450 HP, 2 row with 1" tubes. Not sure of the dimensions but it fits.
Hope this helps.
David
