What Foam for Fiberglassing

Hey all
I'm going to make a glovebox for my dash. I'm was planning on using a foam block and making a "plug", then covering that with fiberglass/resin to make the box shell. Anybody know what kind of foam I need to use that won't react with the resin?

Larry,
Mr B. hooked you up with foam and another option for you is sheetmetal. Use spots of hot glue like rivets on inside or overlaps so finished part is cleaner. A little automotive wax makes plug removal a snap. Posterboard or even file folders work but will stick to your masterpiece, tear loose and hit with another layer of glass as you just want the shape 1 time. Jeff C

I was watching one of those powerblock shows. They were making fiberglass flares on a mustang. They used that green foam that florists use for a plug, then layed 'glass over that. It was real easy to shape and get a fairly smooth surface. Came out pretty nice.

Don't tell anybody but this sticky stuff is really pretty easy to work with. You can cheat and use about anything if you keep the resin off whatever with aluminum foil or clear food wrap. Even Styrofoam will work but if you get a hole or it gets on foam it will just melt before your eyes. WHAT A MESS !
footnote to self..... 200 MPH tape does not work, glue melts !!!!

Nice job map!
Thanks for the info guys. I have a fair amount of fiberglass exp, so I don't think this will be something I can't handle.
