Kirkham Throw Out Bearing Assembly for Top Loader Transmissions
Fellow Car Nuts:
We just designed a new throw out bearing assembly for the Top Loader Transmission. Many of you know we have long had one for the Tremec, but now the Top-Loader guys can get rid of their leaky hydraulic systems! The kit is $450. We are running a Club Cobra special right now for $395. This fits the large-input shaft Top Loader. We have not made one for the small input shaft Top-Loader. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...72_Medium_.JPG David :):):) |

We use a rod end on the slave cylinder as well. The kit comes with all the bolts you need.

Here is a close-up of the rod end. Notice there are 2 holes in the billet clutch arm. The inner hole makes the clutch act faster, but it is harder to push.

We supply the clutch line and the fitting so you don't have to go looking for a bunch of parts.

David,
Very nice. If/when my McCleod fails me, I'll be sure to upgrade with your system. |
Will a regular clutch fork not fit in the trans tunnel?
|
David,
Absolutely beautiful work... It looks like the bearing is custom, is that true and does it come with the kit? Ok, Jamo, this is what you have been waiting for! Scott |
Nice work as usual. When mine goes, that's where I'm going.
|
Nice...looks great!
We put the engine/trans back in last week with a new fork from Kee...couldn't wait any longer after talking to you about a toploader setup in May. Maybe next time. :) |

It is very impressive looking David, don't think that I'm knocking it. But I would have trouble spending $450 for something that would normally cost $120, including an L or T bracket for the bellhousing. I've had great luck with selling the McLeod clutch forks to Cobra owners, and if they take up too much room, it's easy to trim the end off.
But then again, guys that write checks for Kirkham cars won't sweat another $330...LOL |
I didn't include the cost of the slave cylinder in my $120, so that is an adjustment.
It is amazing what a nice CNC machine will do though. That's a nice looking piece. |

All the bearings we use are pretty expensive as well. David :):):) |

Got the transmission completely rebuilt and shipped to/from Kee within two weeks...an entire transmission. Heard nuthin by the end of June or through all of July. In case you lost track...it's now August. Got emails from you about Tea Parties though. And then I have to find out the status in a CC thread? I don't make my clients ask twice for help, and I sure as hell don't make my friends do that. Maybe next time I'll start a thread about how I'm dying and I just need a phuking clutch fork. :) Finally got a "Cobra Fork" from Kee...fits great with a normal slave mounting location, with no cutting necessary. Yes Scott...that's what I had been waiting for. Too late...nobody called to tell me to hold on. I died. :p |
hehehehe!!!

...bite me.
