I was wondering for a moderate build which brands guys are having luck with. I rather go with a traditional plug instead of the platnium stuff

actually i prefer the autolite platinums for my 468......KCR supplied NGKs with the build, but i changed over to the autolites when i needed a different heat range.

On a "moderate build," with an MSD Box, coil, and distributor, any of the three plugs that xlr8or listed will last longer than you will. ;) Personally, I use the Champions that were third on his list.

I use Autolites

ng8264723 Platinum plug are not reccomended when running MSD setup in the car. 6AL box and HVHC coil. Running a coil is OK. I run 3924 plugs in my 482 motor with .045" gap. Run clean and good startup. Rick L.

I have no MSD setup. I don't think it necessary. Another area for probems. For now I have the Mallory unilte distrisbitor and an MSD coil.

You're running a unilight but worried about problems with an MSD? "necessary"? Nope, but it can sure make life with a fire-breather much easier.

ng8264723.......dont worry i run the same distributer and coil as you do and i've had no problems on my mild built FE and i also strongley recomend the Autolite 3926 plugs.

I`ve got a 482 and run either AR 3923 or AR 3924 with a gap of .045 ". I just tried the 3924`s and they were too hot for my engine .

Ditto on the Champion RC12YC.
