EMPI Carbs--Anybody Familiar With Them?

I am getting ready to switch to Webers on my car and was considering these 51 mm carbs from EMPI instead of 48 mm Webers (to provide a bit more flow and top end for my bored and stroked FE).

However, I am not familiar with EMPI and was told that these carbs are made in China--which makes me a bit nervous about putting them on my car.

Is anybody familiar with or used carbs from EMPI? Also, any perspectives on how much additional high-end flow, HP/TQ that might be gained from these larger carbs over the Weber 48 mm carbs (in a big--bored and stroked--cubic inch FE)? I have some concerns that the 48 mm Webers will suffocate my motor at higher RPMs (though, the motor will only be cranking up to 6,000 rpms).

I am aware of the Berg 58 mm carbs; but they are very pricey!

Thanks,

Stentor
