Welcome Steve, I'm on the Cobra Club site but don't get there as often as I should. Is that a DAX? What engine. In what area are you located? I think you will find this site a little more active than the Cobra Club site. Either way welcome.

Hi Jim
thanks for the welcome, I wish it were a DAX! it is a budget kit called a Fierro euro427, similar to the very popular Pilgrim over here. I am based on the south coast of England near the new forest

Steve, I'm not that familiar with the Fierro. My God Children live in Saltford so we find ourselves in the Bath-Bristol area fairly often. (Used to live in Warwick). What kind of engine are you running? How long did the build take? Does it still rain in England 3 to 5 times daily? Hope that you enjoy the American site. There are some people that are very knowledgeable about these cars.

yes Jim it still rains far too often! why we even consider building open top cars is beyond me:LOL: the engine is an all aluminium V8 made by Rover which is fitted in the Range Rover I think it is around 215c.i. in your money! Fierro is not a popular kit due to poor aftersales backup and is mad in Birmingham the pain is made by an American company called Rage and the colour is called "spanglo" I just wanted a cobra that stood out from the Blue/red with stripes you see a lot of. I am currently making a tonneau cover as I am fed up getting a wet butt every time I come back to the car after more rain!

Steve, I had a workmate that had a Triumph Stag so I know a little about the Rover V8. It was a great sounding engine (beats the hell out of a V6). If the Feirro is made in Birmingham you might find that some of the bits are made out a Chicken-tikka masala balti or possibly nan bread:LOL:. I don't know what the torque specs are for balti bolts and nuts. Just kidding of course. I drive a Classic Roadster II. They went out of business a couple of years ago and their follow-up is pretty miserable:JEKYLHYDE. Everyone is right about the colour. Whomever painted it knew what they were doing. If you can get some more pics posted in your user section it would be great. My wife and I will be in Birmingham the last of October. Going to stay with some friends for a couple of days on our way back from Faro. If you need a big block Ford I'll see if we can bring some extra baggage.
