Springs for the Jag suspension

Can someone help with what springs should be installed for the Jag rear and front suspensions? Assuming the suspension was installed with sedan springs.
Thanks for any help.

David,

Question's a bit confusing...

I use coilovers front and rear.

The Jag rear uses 10" springs, four shocks (two per side) with 350 lbs/in spring rate. The extended length of the shocks is 15". I use a 3.8S width rear. If you use an XKE width (narrower) or a sedan (XJ, wider) width, all bets are off!

The front of my car uses a Mustang II-type suspension. If you have a Jag front suspension you'll need torsion bars. If so, there are places to get them - let me know.

If you have the Mustang II suspension, mine uses a 13.5" extended length shock with 450 lbs/in spring rate. Again differences abound!

Caution: These specs are for my car. There are variations among kits, years, etc etc for both shock length, spring rate needed and placement of the shock mounts. Please make sure you know what you need before you run out and buy stuff!

Regards,

Tom

Hey David I talked with a CCX guy who had changed his. He said 250 lb rears.

Check ERA's website and download their free 427SC assembly manual (no pictures). This manual is useful for assembling nearly any Cobra replica kit. Their specs for front and rear coilovers will be a good place to start. They recommend Spax or Koni shocks, but you can apply the specs to other brands. ERA's recommended coilover springs are Eibach.

I have 300 lb. springs on my Contemporary with QA-1 shocks with the wider rear end. I had one bad Koni on the front and Koni seemed like such a hassle to get so I took the good shock over to Bilstien and they tested it on their dyno and built a pair of new shocks for me. If anyone is interested I have the dyno information.
