THESE ARE VERY LIMITED EDITION FORD RACECARS AND COULD BE VALUABLE FOR YEARS TO COME.... THE $139+K CAR IS A VERY SPECIAL CAR THAT WILL BE MORE SPECIAL IN THE YEARS TO COME BUT BOTH ARE VERY INTERESTING AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE EITHER CAR MYSELF.... WHO WANTS A FACTORY RACECAR??? |
Based on them being from Ford Racing these are likely to be like the CobraJets in that they are not street legal. Sold on a bill of sale from the parts catalog but no VIN. Also conspicuously missing parts like airbags, catalytic converters, etc.
I mention this because I know someone who was ready to buy a CobraJet until he got reminded of the part that he would pay sales tax but not be able to get license plates. |
Hi Tony,
You are very correct. These are racecars just like I stated. No vin but it comes with a serial number and then it can be raced with a logbook. Imagine racing against a new Camaro & Challenger just like the old days.... |
i have an r50 cammer, no torque what fun is that.

We were told the purchase window was closed in March. Please advise.

It looks like the Cobra Jet will remain available. So you have a drag car and two track cars. Pretty awesome.
In the past with the Cobra Jets, dealers that placed orders for multiple cars were given preference. I recall Galpin and Tasca were some of the big ones. |
At the Fabulous Ford Forever car show in Buena Park earlier this month, there was a very unusual car that rolled in that was what I thought WAS a Cobra Jet, but it had a knock down drag out Windsor Engine with fuel injection and open exhaust.
There was a build book with extensive photos that represented the car being built in the midwest, it might have started life as a "Body In White" and was transformed into a CJ clone, but it looked the part?? |
