I'm deffinately planning on going this year. I'll probably bring a GT-40 and a Mustang or maybe a Cobra. I'm not sure yet.

RACER X #99 01-14-2002 05:59 PM

Gordon,
Looking forward to meeting you and Scott and all the left side racers.

Club Cranky plans on being there.

I just got the news letter from the northwoods shelby club regarding road america in september. Tech thursday at 4:00 pm. Friday and sunday four 30 minute sessions per run group, passengers ok, no open pipes. Saturday, 1 morning session, then time trials. 3 runs on dead stop dashes out of the pits on cold everything spaced about 1 hour apart so bring your qualifying tires, brakes etc. Best run counts. I am not crazy about the cold everything 1 lap deal, I was hopeing for a transponder session with a warmer driver and car. It is a well run event, I can't wait, should be lots of fun. By the way cranky, my car is #99. For a small fee or some expert driving instruction(from you), I could change my to #9. scott

Scott....

...no open pipes at all??????? I thought there were no noise restrictions, or was I mistaken????

I'd like more detailes on the event too.

Dall gurn it, I wanted to run the 289 with straight pipes.

Do we know prices? Accommodations in the area????

We're newbies and haven't a clue where to go. I don't think Cranky has investigated motels yet, any help is appreciated.

For some reason they want everyone to have mufflers. I think they are trying to keep under a 104db limit.

RACER X #99 02-18-2002 05:18 PM

Gordon, Do you think a 400 hp small block thru standard Cobra sidepipes will be under the limit?

Thanks,
Cranky

Gordon Levy 02-19-2002 08:21 AM

As long as the pipes have some sort of muffler, I don't see a problem.
