McBill,
I just checked out the new photos taken from the air and WoW does that track look difficult. They better put up some large, soft barriers between the track corners or we's gonna be running into each other. So they sold the track to sombody else who will be overcharging us just like the previous owners. We will have to give it a try, if it doesn't work out we always got the Glen. McCranky |
I need this news like a hole in the head.
Bill I'm now on my third bourbon thanks to your news!! I'm afraid that the Napp boys took the money and ran. Who can blame them. The land has to be worth a fortune. Nevertheless, watch for the Foley/Lewis blown alcohol dragster next year in Div 1. Roger... you are invited!! Tim |
So did the Napp Bros. put this road track in and sell it or did the new owners put it in?
Will E-Town stay or be cleared out for some more cookie cutter condos? Can never have enough of them blotting out the landscape. Will E-Town end up just a footnote in car racing history? Like those current pics that show up in Hot Rod mag..."this is where Lions Dragway once stood" |
Sorry Tim,
So I should not tell you the other rumor about tearing up the drag strip, airfield, and everything else to build a full on Road Race course to attract Formula/Nascar style racing to NJ....... Bill S. Quote:

Bill,
I checked with my sources, "Da Boobies" and they tell me it ain't true. The Napps didn't sell. If I hear more, I'll tell ya. |
HHHHHHHmmmmmmmmmm, will double check with Da bunnies on this one......perhaps we need to get "Da Bunnies", and "Da Boobies" together.........Just imagine, scantily clad women running around with rabbit ears and a tale>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>No, wait a minute, that has already been done here in NJ

Richard Napp, brother of Vincent and one of the original founders of Englishtown Raceway park, died last night of cancer. Perhaps the family had anticipated this sad end and thus sold or transferred ownership of the track to the next generation.
I only knew both Napp brothers casually but remember their enthusiasm and devotion to both the fans and drivers. I'll remember them both on opening day. |
