London Mid Ohio track event

I am considering the London track event. I don't have the car yet and it appears I won't have it long before the event.

What insurance do you have to have to participate? What does that cost?

On any track.....your on your own.....

They are going to be more concerned with the safety issues of your car, i.e., brakes, wheels, roll bar, seat bets, etc. You will have to look up the event to check on cost.

I am not so concerned with them but with me. I had thought I had read that there was some kind of insurance available for tracks. I must have been mistaken.

I checked the specifics of the event and I think I am OK as far as tech inspection. I'll have to check a few minor details but Olthoff Racing is putting the car together and I expect it to be pretty well sorted out when I get it.

I will have only had the car a short time and I thought it would be a good opportunity to become familiar with it. The write up describes it as a learning event not an open track day. Seems like a safe place to learn the car.

I took a 5 day class SCCA licence class at Laguna Seca quite a few years ago. I remember the class well so I am not sure if I should go in as a novice or intermediate.

Has anyone participated in it in the past?

Lockton has track insurance. HPDE Insurance | Lockton Motorsports

Not sure if they will cover you for that event or not, but you can check.

Awesome, thanks for that link. It appears that insurance is not available for that event. I may attend another event. The goal is to push the car under controlled conditions, it does not matter if it is with the Cobra event. I don't think I want to spend a week in London in any case.

I think it's great to get your car on the track. Good way to learn it's limits and have a blast doing it. :D

Not trying to change your mind on anything but just to clarify...You don't "spend a week in London", all of the down time is spent in Columbus (except while you are at Mid-Ohio and there you will likely stay in Lexington).
