Iowa Open Track August 10-11 2002

Put August 10-11 2002 on you schedule of MUST DO events. The Mustang Club of Central Iowa is hosting an open track event at America's newest race track, the Mid America Motorplex. The track is smack dab in the middle of the US, just east of Omaha on the Iowa side of the Missouri river. All cars, including Cobras, original, replica, or otherwise, are welcome. This is not a Ford-only event. As long as it's not a motorcycle or an open wheeler, it's welcome. This 2.23 mile, 15-turn track is the newest facility in the country. It's state-of-the-art, fast, safe, and fun. You'll get more track time than you can probably use. We will have run groups for everyone, beginner to advanced. Cost is $130 per day before July 5th (plus $20 if you're not a MCCI member). See www.midamericamotorplex.com for more info. Come play with us in the heartland!

Flyers are available now at www.mustangclubofcentraliowa.org . Look under upcoming events. Preregistrations are coming in now. Registration for this event is limited, so don't wait too long. Thanks!

Don't wait too long to register if you're coming. We will be limiting daily registration to ensure plenty of track time.

Only two weeks 'till the early registration deadline of July 5th. Get your registration in by then to save $40.

I haven't received any Club Cobra registrations yet. Are there only waxers out there?

A little too far for me Doug, but enjoy!!!!!!

Be safe and have fun!

You guys shoulda been there! The weather was perfect, the track was in excellent shape, and we ran so many sessions people were worn out and leaving early Sunday afternoon. 67 drivers over the two days attended this innagural event.

Only ONE Cobra showed up, though. I guess it's true - the Cobra guys are waxers!;)

Passengers were also allowed. This adds another dimension to an already good event. I had a ride in a race-prepped GT350 that I won't soon forget.

This is an event you should plan to attend. It's reasonably priced, centrally located, and sure to grow. The Mid America Motorplex is first class, and brand spankin' new. Don't miss it next year!
