Yeah...now THERE'S an idea....

Flyin_Freddie's Fabulous Famous Pickled Ribs.... ! :3DSMILE: Sounds like a plan....

I've been thinkin' about freezin' them....sounds like the way to do it, then pack 'em in ice until Friday PM, when I need to start marinating them. They can stay on ice until Sat PM, no problem. This may be the best plan, McHank....

Still need to know a head count and whether or not I need to bring a grill/smoker. Smokin' ribs takes about 6 hours, but I can get them ready on the grill in about an hour and a half. I've got to meaure my grill to see if it'll fit in my trailer with all the other sh!t I always bring!

Tell you what....is anyone driving a pick-up? We could get the grill back and forth with a pick-up. Contrary to popular Yankee mythology, all us McClampetts don't drive pick-ups!

John McMahon 03-25-2002 12:05 PM

McFreddie,

I am bringing a Weber Charcoal Kettle grill with me. I think one is supplied at the house, not sure if its gas or coals.

We have 6 staying at the house and plan on inviting all CC and CF members that show up to the event. (Racer Al was coming, but got cold feet when I made some ree-marks about his cuzzin, Jethrette).

I suspect, since we have invited the Olthoffs and Mike Stenhouse, since they were gracious enough to let us come on down. We will probably have 15 to 20 folks hanging out and eating on Saturday Night. Terry Shank is also gonna cook that night, steaks or roadkill or sheep, not sure.

If you can plan on about 20 folks at least getting a nibble on some of this Tenneesee BBQ, that should do. We'll probably bring some side fixins with us too, haven't thought that far ahead.

McHank is the libations director, so you can coordinate al-kee-holl wif him.

I will bring along the SDW Karaoke System which encompasses a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue and a megaphone for yours truly.

God only knows whose spitirts I may conjure up!!!!

FYI...We're going to Summit Point the following 2 days with the COM group. Interested????

Four days of Racing. Now ya gotta like that! **)

North vs South

If only McBruce were to show up, we could have the battle of the ribses. Who makes the best tastin ribses? Mcbruce representing the North cooking out of western Pa and the challenger representing the South Fabulous Flyin Freddie cooking out of Tennessee

Bring on the ribses.

McCranky:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Flyin_Freddie 03-25-2002 03:31 PM

Ribs from WESTERN PA....? You GOT to be kiddin'.....

Everyone who's ANYONE knows the Annual World Championship Barbeque Cook Off is held in Memphis, Tennessee, the third weekend of each May. Teams come from all over the work to cook 'que and have it judged....there might be some beer drinkin' goin' on, too, but I have no first hand knowledge of that vicious rumor.....:p The contest has been covered by Willard Scott from NBC Today Show, as well as Al Roker....both no strangers to smoked pork, from their appearance.....and recognized as THE WORLD'S BEST .

What's Western PA got...?

Hmmmmph....

RACER X #99 03-25-2002 04:06 PM

Bring on the ribs FF

I may have a glass or two of beer to wash down those ribs, that is if I run out of Tn'ts.
Cranky:D

mr bruce 03-25-2002 04:15 PM

I eat to prevent from getting hungry

Only thing worth a ship made in Tenn. is Jack Black. You Rebels have no concept of properly prepared swine. I'm boycoting the event cause no Chevys(Cheeter) allowed. Then again, if I do make an appearance, I will accept the challenge . Bring your appetites kids.

Hank Dondero 03-25-2002 04:31 PM

Cranky,
Ain't no way in hell we gonna run out o that TnT stuff, unless you start mixin em the way you did the last time I was with ya.:JEKYLHYDE **)

Can we buy lika in Virginee? If i have to lug all this alkyhol, I won't be able to keep up with youse guys.

John McMahon 03-25-2002 05:49 PM

McFreddie,

For Joisey BBQ, this is what we would do.....

1 - Take one fully prepared Willard Scott.

2 - Dump him in a hole in the swamps near Giants stadium.

3 - Go to Tennessee for some BBQ.

**) **) :D

Flyin_Freddie 03-25-2002 11:18 PM

Yes, you can buy licka in Virginee...but......

...you'll have to find and ABC (alcoholic beverage control) store. Their hours are funny, and I'm not sure where one is in relation to VIR. I may suggest we pack it in to insure we won't run out of ammunition until all the bogeys are located and eliminated. Nothing worse than finding incoming bogeys and all you have is your d!ck in your hand!
Beer's easier to find. But back pack the heavy artillery to be sure. Thas what Ahm plannin' boys....

Still no resolution on a pick-up truck... I plan on leaving my trailer at the track, and need someway to get a grill to the house...can anyone provide assistance? Your meal may depend on it...so think over your answer and be sure.

....is that your final answer?

....are you sure?

....don' wanna change yer mind?

RACER X #99 03-26-2002 04:05 AM

Pickup Truck?

FF,
You know that Cranky is a Nascar fan so you don't have to wonder who's driving a pickup truck.

McCranky:3DSMILE:

Flyin_Freddie 03-28-2002 10:45 AM

Gothca....

McCrankster, then can I count on you to get a grill from trackside to Club Cranky's hideout Saturday afternoon....before we start the cookin'...?

I knew I could....:MECOOL:

Now, what I need to worry about is how many slabs I can cook on my grill? I hope the house has some sort of grill, too. If I've got to provide ribses for 20 folks, we're talking 10 slabs, and I can cook about 6-8 at a time. Someone's not gonna be eatin' ribses.....and we don't want THAT to happen.

Of course, there's always the chance that some Cranky-ites won't like my ribses and there'll be some left for the rest of us. Yeah....as if that's gonna happen! Yuo guys'll be callin' me Emerill before the weekend's over....

This is gonna be fun...

RACER X #99 03-28-2002 02:46 PM

Tennesee Ribses

FF,
I know their is a grill at the house and I think McMahon is also bringing his grill. We will be bringing some fresh killed beef and other stuff. Nobody will be going away hungry.

Lobstahs....no one ever mentioned "Lobstahs"....!

I've never smoked a lobstah...never could figure out which end to light and which end to suck on! Light the wrong end and those little suckers get downright beligerant with ya!

Screw it....toss 'em in a pot and let the little bugs warm up in boiling water for about 15 minutes! Serves the little bastards right!

Hank Dondero 03-28-2002 06:29 PM

Lobstah

McFF,

I don't eat them things. I've know how and where they live and what they eat. Ech!%/
