Pocono News

Has anyone heard anything about a driver being killed at the Pocono track on Aug. 3 or Aug. 4? I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago. The Pocono Record (from Stroudsburg) has a archived article on the web but the link is bad. I am curious if it was a pro event, or an open track event.

Sad but true.....

...don't have a lot of details, but it was an SCCA event and the gentleman who died was Rob Goldfarb, the president of COM (Corvettes of Mass.)

As I understand it (and this is word of mouth... I haven't heard an official determination), Rob was running in a Corvette and was bumped from behind. He rolled the car and hit a wall at 155MPH.

Rob was 45 with a wife and kids. I had only met him once at Summit Point. My condolences go out to Rob's family.

Sad

Truly sorry to hear that. Pocono is the only track I have ever run on (one time), so it's a little chilling for me.
