Club Cranky...Back to the Glen!
Well Race Fans,
3 WEEKS AWAY!!!!!! Its already time again. Yup, the Crankoids will be back at New York State's "Thunder Road", Watkins Glen, for a three day driving/drinking/eating/comedic extravaganza!!! For many, it will be the last driving event for the season. This one is usually the best for Our Gang. We expect the normal shenanigans..... - I think Mr. Bruce will be bringing his famous Castrol GTX marinated ribses. I also hope Bruce brings one of his toys along...a Cheetah??? maybe a Daytona??? - We 'hope' to have the twin turbo CSX7000 make its debut at this event. It is currently being finished up. - Bill Connelly will also be back with his Upstate Super Replicars Daytona Coupe for some more 'testing & tuning'. - Peter Baselice is a possibility with his '66 GT350, if he doesn't break it in the Volvo Classic race series. Anyway, HE will be coming with the Johnny Walker Blue regardless. - Additional Crankoids will be crawling out of the sewers and drainpipes to congregate around the Seneca Lodge's 110 Octane bonfire (The Pire of McFire) as usual. October 4-6 at Watkins Glen, we'll be running with PDA (Performance Drivers Association). To sign up (and you better do it now if you have not!) go to their website at: http://www.imp-auto.com/ Visitors: If you plan on coming to just hang out and watch, you MUST be on the guest list. You will not be allowed through the gate unless a participant in the driving school has put you on their guest list. If you're coming, feel free to email me and I'll add you to my list. Hope to see you all there! Additional info from Cranky at: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=20115 JM |
New record at the Glen
Guys in attempt to smash the record "198" I am installing a 2.5-1 gear in my car and also a parachute to slow me down from 220 for the bustop where I will release the parachute and continue on to break the track lap record of 150 + set by Scott Pruit in a Nisson GTP car. If anybody believes that they also probably believe that a Cobra went 198 at Daytona.
JM , Bring the stopwatch Hank, Bring the nerve juice. Fez, Bring your BB so you can beat my record CSX 4027 bring the spare body in case the chute doesn't work and also sign me up for one of those 10 million dollar policies. The Crankoids will be setting their own records rather than talking about sombody else's. 2 1/2 weeks till we get to the Glen. Sr. Cranky:3DSMILE: |
Crank,
Are we doing the BB vs. SB shootout between McFEz and McFIA at this event???? I think we had planned to. If so, we need timers. Anyone got a radar gun? |

Remember, friends don't let frends early apex!
Cheers, Pete |
Early apex
Pete.
Early apex at turn one at the Glen = trip thru sand box and possible quick stop against tire barrier ala Jarrett, Little E and many others. Drive deep, brake late and turn in better late than early. Two more weeks wer'e going to the Glen. Cranky BTW anybody know where we can borrow Dick Smith's radar gun?;) |
